It’s been a long while since I posted- I’m actually concentrating on ceramics these days- if you get a chance, please check out my site– my new little company called Miro Made This…
But anyway, in the meantime, I wanted to introduce a friend that you’d probably like, because Pete‘s aesthetic is a little like that of my cards- bright and modern, with kind of the same audience appeal, except much more clever… It’s actually a project that my sister, Mimi, and her friends Sean and Pete are working on together- and they need your help to make their book a reality! They’ve got a kickstarter campaign going- please check it out- there’s a stop animation video that’s just AWESOME. And please tell your friends too! Thanks!

It’s pretty much summertime in the garden- you can see the cycles of change as things bloom, grow, fruit, wither, dry… There is beauty and inspiration to be found in all stages of life. Pictured below are: a sunflower- pre-bloom, some dried dill seeds we harvested before cutting it down to allow for summer crops, and some of our first apricots- dessert!
Here’s a video of Quentin Blake, author and illustrator, showing his process of illustrating his books- he’s amazing, and even if you don’t know the name, you’d probably recognize his drawings. I especially love the part where you actually get to see him draw- so amazing to watch that sure of a hand! (For more information about Quentin Blake, check out his website).
I liked this little video!
Frank Chimero is a graphic designer, illustrator, teacher and writer. Love this video of a talk he gave, called “Do things the long, hard, stupid way”
