Sophie Blackall is an illustrator in Brooklyn, New York. She has a blog where she posts illustrations she’s done, based on “Missed Connections”. In her words
“Messages in bottles, smoke signals, letters written in the sand; the modern equivalents are the funny, sad, beautiful, hopeful, hopeless, poetic posts on Missed Connections websites. Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I’m trying to pin a few of them down.”
Check out her beautiful and very funny illustrations!

Only when you are weak, dizzy + frustrated, with snot dripping off the tip of your nose, can you fully appreciate how “tamper-resistant” and “child-proof” over-the-counter drugs are packaged.
It’s amazing how difficult it is to photograph something 3d sometimes…
the bunny cards are not quite multiplying like rabbits, but there are a couple new ones at the shop, and I’ve got another one or two to post, along with some spring chicks…
In like a lion, out like a lamb? In like a lamb, out like a lion?
Here in Phoenix, it’s definitely spring- although there has been an unusual amount of rain. But blossoms have been blooming, birds chirping, chickens clucking, and veggies sprouting. As for the rest of the country- it’s a bit of a different story- I was just looking at the photos at smitten kitchen (one of my favorite food blogs) – a veritable winter wonderland! (not to mention a very tasty looking cake recipe)! Anyway, in honor of March, and the advent of spring (at least here in the southwest), my lion and lamb cards are $2 off for the month (You can find them here.)
